sweet scramble

Sitting here in my rocking chair with Winter in my arms...this is my quiet reflection time (a.k.a. blog from my phone time). Being a mother to a lil girl is so special in a different kind of way. Im looking at her lil face in this dim light and cant think of any other way to describe this moment but BEAUTIFUL. She is sweet and small and perfect and mine. A living doll truly truly.
Dax is another kind of story. Of course he is special too. He is clever and observant, this boy is not easily fooled or distracted. He likes to just sit and hold hands with me. He tells me everything he feels. He wakes up and asks where his baby sister is. So thoughtful, so protective...just like his father. My life is so colorful and warm because of them. When i look at their faces i can only think of how in love i am with their father. My family. My TWO kids. My husband. My life. My loves.

My Beautiful Winter

Hey everyone,
Oh goodness! It has been sooooo long since my last post! Well, I had my daughter, my gorgeous little Winter Grace. The surgery went sooo well. Healing has been a sinch, even losing the baby weight is going so much better than after my last pregnancy. We ran into some problems at the hospital, but thankfully now that's just a hazy blur. The baby was born very jaundiced and it got to the point where she was put in the NICU (thats baby intensive care unit for those who arent familiar with the term) to be treated. It was heartbreaking for us and I was an emotional mess. I missed Dax...ugh, it was pretty terrible. Long story short, I was dilligent about breastfeeding her.. EVERY two hours..yes even at night. Sleep could wait! You see, the more she ate and pooped, the faster she would pass all that bilirubin that was in her blood. It worked and they finally sent us home. <3
Anyway life is crazy and exciting. I have my little pair of kiddos. WOW! It still trips me out! I really wish the weather wasn't so crazy cold so I could take Dax out to play. We're getting a little cabin fever from being here with each other all day. We keep plenty busy though. I seriously feel so blessed. Even with all the hospital bills that seem to be coming everyday, I can't help but stay positive and appreciative. Life is amazing.

how time flies...

I'm sitting here at the obgyns office waiting for him because for some reason he's not here, but anyway...I'm not due for another four weeks and I can't help but think about how Dax was born three and a half weeks early. Will that happen again this time? It's all so crazy. I worry about my son and I don't want him to worry about me. I want him to be out with family having so much fun that he doesn't even notice my absence. And of course I pray that the new baby and I will be okay after the delivery. It's exciting and terrifying all at the same time. I know I just have to be positive and have faith in God. That's all I can do. <3 Anyway I hear the doctor right outside my door. Smell you later!

losing sleep

So its been a super long time since my last entry. I'm approaching the eighth month mark in my pregnancy and life is becoming a little, shall we say, uncomfortable. It is 4:45 a.m and I've got pretty bad heartburn. So bad in fact that my inner ears feel like they're burning too. Also, my sciatic nerve has been pinched since the very beginning of this pregnancy, which one, sucks and is painful, and two, limiting my ability to bend down or lift anything. It's very frustrating because having a two year old means I'm doing those movements anyway, it just kinda hurts like hell when i do. Ugh. But enough complaining, yeah pregnancy is no joke. Just because you see folks getting pg all the time doesn't make it any less special or challenging. Each time really is amazing and should be treated as such. =) I'm so excited to meet my baby...life is going to be crazy but I can't wait to welcome her into the world. I cant wait to see Phillips face the first time he holds her in his arms and I cant wait to introduce her to Dax. Its crazy how in life you start off as just one and then next thing you know, you're part of a whole new little family, a family of four!! Crazy!!

Water Parks: the only way to beat the Texas heat

As you know, we live in Texas and summer here is no joke!! Most of the time it's simply just too hot to go outside, seriously!! Many times we have to wait till after 6 when the sun is finally going down and even then it's so humid and uncomfortable..especially me being pregnant and all. =/ Well, the other day Phil and I took our son to this really neat park nearby that has a little water park feature (and it's free..so..awesome!). Well, we'd been there before but this time it was so cool cuz all the kids were about his age so we didn't have to worry about "big kids" playing all rough or crazy. It was real nice, just a bunch of parents watching their little ones having a ball! This lady even gave Dax a popsicle, and well, needless to say, he greatly enjoyed it very much!
My God kids are cute! We were all just laughing at all the funny and wacky little things that kids do. You can't really see the other kids in my pics (because I don't like taking pics of other people's kids), but it was a nice, diverse little mix. I like when it's like that, it's good to expose kids to all kinds of different people.  =)

Anyway, we had fun and Dax was wiped out by the time we got home..which is always a good sign, right?

Fun time! Sun time!

Here's a few pics of us at my Mom's house taking a dip. Phillip is always working so he doesn't usually get to hang out with ALL of us on the weekends, but we do manage to sneak in a little time in the pool, just us.

This Just In....

After a highly anticipated visit to the doctor, the news is in:
