Water Parks: the only way to beat the Texas heat

As you know, we live in Texas and summer here is no joke!! Most of the time it's simply just too hot to go outside, seriously!! Many times we have to wait till after 6 when the sun is finally going down and even then it's so humid and uncomfortable..especially me being pregnant and all. =/ Well, the other day Phil and I took our son to this really neat park nearby that has a little water park feature (and it's free..so..awesome!). Well, we'd been there before but this time it was so cool cuz all the kids were about his age so we didn't have to worry about "big kids" playing all rough or crazy. It was real nice, just a bunch of parents watching their little ones having a ball! This lady even gave Dax a popsicle, and well, needless to say, he greatly enjoyed it very much!
My God kids are cute! We were all just laughing at all the funny and wacky little things that kids do. You can't really see the other kids in my pics (because I don't like taking pics of other people's kids), but it was a nice, diverse little mix. I like when it's like that, it's good to expose kids to all kinds of different people.  =)

Anyway, we had fun and Dax was wiped out by the time we got home..which is always a good sign, right?

Fun time! Sun time!

Here's a few pics of us at my Mom's house taking a dip. Phillip is always working so he doesn't usually get to hang out with ALL of us on the weekends, but we do manage to sneak in a little time in the pool, just us.

This Just In....

After a highly anticipated visit to the doctor, the news is in:

Legos, Yo Gabba Gabba, and Dax

Spending time with my son is never ever boring. There's always something interesting to pull out of his toy closet or Mommy and Daddys old stuff. Here's an awesome bachelor pad we made for our pals Brobee and Muno. It's been a very long time, but I remember playing Legos at my baby-sitters house. It was very fun and I don't think I ever had legos at my house. Guess it was kind of considered a "boys toy". Dax is funny, I'll make something while he tinkers around and then I'll present it to him, he'll take it, marvel at it, and destroy it.  He cracks me up but it's ok. Some people really get a kick out of taking things apart to see how they work, maybe that's what he's doing, i dunno.  Anyway, Legos rock. and somehow I manage to incorporate those lil YGG figurines into all the stuff we play. What can I say, they are sturdy, colorful, familiar friends that happen to be the perfect size! =)

Dirty Job

Phil and I have our own bathroom that's connected to our bedroom. Luckily, we don't have to share it with guests when people come over, which is great for me cuz I always have it looking AWFUL!!! I guess that since I know no one sees it I simply don't care about the messes I leave, and yeah, I'll admit it, I get lazy! What with my makeup brushes, flat iron, blow dryer, bobby pins, etc. scattered about, poor Phil doesn't have a square inch to call his own. Well, I got sick of all the clutter and finally did something about it! I gave it the cleaning of it's life. I scrubbed the bathtub, bleached the toilets and counter-tops and mopped/disinfected the floors and cleaned the mirrors. I got all my crap off the counter and into the little closet in the bathroom in an organized manner. Whew!! So I snapped a few pics to commemorate this magic moment in hopes that by sharing this with you, I'll feel ashamed to ever let it get that bad again.  I like seeing bare counter top, I really really do. I am going to truly make an effort to keep my bathroom looking like this from now on...you are my witness!!! So what do you think of my shockingly bright green walls? LOL,  don't answer that!! Who needs coffee when you wake up in the morning and walk into this?

The 5 Month Mark

So here is a picture of me in all my 5 months pregnant glory. =) Yeah, i just cut bangs again...it makes me feel like my old self again. There's so much going on, it's easy to get caught up in all the madness, so maybe that's why I so impulsively went for the scissors with no hesitation. I am so excited about how much life is going to change for us. It's crazy and I could easily be scared to death, but what good would that do? I've got to stay focused on always doing what's best for the gang, after all, it is my duty.<3
Dax is learning so much so fast. He's talking so much and is so curious. Time goes by so fast when you have the honor and priviledge of seeing something develop and flourish right in front of your eyes... especially when it is a tiny little version of the person you love most in the world. And looking down at my growing belly..oh, it's such a trip! Hey little baby in there, I adore you. You make me laugh somehow. You make me feel amazing.

Somehow I Knew...

Ugh. I was looking so forward to my sonogram today. Last night I dreamt about it over and over again, only to wake up to my cell ringing. I pick up and heard the words "Hello, I'm calling from Dr._____'s office..." and I was like "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!" in my head. Apparently the x-ray tech called in sick today. Ugh, damnit!! Are you freaking kidding me? This is so frustrating. The wait was long enough as it is. Maybe this is the Lord's way of showing me that perhaps I need to just chill and stop trippin so much. What better way to make you rethink your ways than a swift kick in the ass? All I can do is just breath. I am greatly disappointed but hey, I'll know someday, right?

Hello Stranger

That's what we say to folks we haven't seen in a while, LOL. I am so rusty, but I'm back now. My keyboard is missing a few buttons and that really makes me dislike typing, but well, I'll try to ignore it. Tomorrow is the day I FINALLY find out what I'm having. No more uncertainty, I cannot friggin wait! I can finally start choosing names and making stuff, plans, parties, etc. I am debating how I'll tell my family. I want to do it in a cute little funny way. My in-laws don't want to find out the gender until the baby is here, so I have to be a little careful about posting stuff on the net. I'm very excited, although I'm not looking forward to sitting in the doctors office for like hours waiting because he's always running late. You see, my OBGYN is the pimp-daddy of gyno's so he's very busy. I totally think it's worth the wait though. I feel super super safe in is care.
